The Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation along with the Towns of Covert and Ulyssess and Village of Trumansburg–aka Known as Three Falls Local Development Corporation–are turning a former boy scout camp into a public park.
The park is now open for use with additional outdoor recreational activities, environmental education and cultural events to come. The former Camp Barton in Trumansburg includes a half mile of Cayuga Lake shoreline and the 128-foot Frontenac Falls.
Through the Park & Trail Partnership Grant Program, we awarded Three Falls Local Development Corporation $100,000 to turn the land into an accessible state park that serves all New Yorkers while preserving its natural and historical significance.
The new park is still waiting on a name. What do you think it should be called?
