PTNY manages and maintains a website and interactive map devoted to the Erie Canalway Trail. Whether trail users are looking to identify attractions and lodging along the trail for your next trip, understand the different surface types or navigate using up-to-date routing of the trail (with any detours that might be needed at that time), this site has got it all.

Cycling the Erie Canal Guidebook

This 142-page guidebook includes 38 easy-to-read, full color maps and is packed with detailed information about the trail itself and the many things to see and do along the Erie Canalway Trail. The most recent edition was published in 2021, reflecting all of the improvements that went into the trail as part of the Empire State Trail project.

Social Media Community

Don’t just take our word for it! Thousands of riders have discovered their own adventure along the Erie Canalway Trail and are happy to talk about their trip. PTNY fosters a community of past, present, and future trail users through managing Facebook and Instagram pages as well as administering a Facebook group for riders to share questions and get feedback.

Canalway Trail Times

PTNY and the Canal Corporation produced a quarterly digital newsletter and blog with trip-planning resources, news and other updates from canal corridor partners for over 15 years. Articles cover topics from trip-planning to trail building progress to local history and more. Check out the back issues.
