Parks & Trails New York organizes and hosts events to highlight, improve and advocate for New York’s parks and trails. From volunteer workdays to advocacy days to bike tours, join us in giving back, speaking out, and enjoying our treasured outdoor places.
Parks & Trails New York and NYS Canal Corporation host a weekend of volunteer events along the New York State Canal System to prepare it for the summer season. Typically, more than 150 community groups hold over 100 events accross the State, with an estimated 2,000 participants.
Parks & Trails New York organizes I Love My Park Day, in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, to celebrate, improve and enhance state parks and historic sites; boost volunteerism; and raise the visibility of the entire state parks system and its needs.
More than 650 cyclists will leave their cars behind to pedal along the historic Erie Canalway Trail to Albany. Along the 400-mile journey, cyclists will enjoy some of the finest scenery, most interesting history, and unparalleled cycling in the northeastern United States.
