Every year, Parks & Trails New York brings together trail and active transportation advocates from around the state for a day in Albany. This year's Trails Advocacy Day is more important than ever because on January 10, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced a historic commitment to complete and connect the Empire State Trail. This 750-mile multi-use trail will connect New York City with the Canadian Border via the Hudson River Greenway and Champlain Canalway Trails and Albany with Buffalo via the Erie Canalway Trail. This initiative will not only create the nation's longest multi-use trail, but it will also bring substantial health, economic, and environmental benefits to the millions of New Yorkers who live along the new trail.
To make this vision a reality, however, we need your help getting the New York Legislature's support.
How can I help?
Join Parks & Trails New York and our partners in Albany on March 2, 2017 to advocate for a historic investment in New York State's multi-use trails. Registration is now closed, but please see the "What if I can't make it on March 2nd" tab for more ways that you can contribute.
What will my job be?
Advocates will join fellow New Yorkers from Buffalo to Long Island to discuss with legislators the benefits of investing in trails.
Do I need experience to participate?
Advocacy Days require no previous experience, and all groups will be led by an experienced advocate.
