How Well Do You Know Your Wildflowers?

As winter recedes into spring, some of New York’s early bloomers are starting to grace our springtime hikes. Before the canopy has a chance to leaf out and shade the forest floor, early spring wildflowers take advantage of the sunlight streaming through the branches to burst onto the scene.

Test your knowledge of some of New York’s finest native wildflowers with this matching quiz. In part one, match the common name to the flower. For an extra challenge, move on to part two to see if you can match the flower with its leaves! You can find the answers at the bottom of the page.
