Welcome, Linden

Parks & Trails New York is happy to welcome its newest staff member, Linden Horvath, who joined us mid-February as our new Director of Development.

A native of Appalachian, Ohio, Linden has lived and worked in the Capital Region for close to three years. When asked what keeps her in the area, Linden replied, “I love the sense of community, access to a variety of activities, and overall the commitment NYS demonstrates in protecting its green spaces. There are so many beautiful spots to swim, hike and cycle so close by.”

Linden is excited to bring her commitment to storytelling and environmental justice to PTNY. Awarded a Masters in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Linden has experience in creating accessible language and action steps to protect our greatest resource—our environment. From working as a consultant in Istanbul and Berlin, to crafting sustainable community development plans in southeastern Ohio and interning at the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic, Linden has focused on weaving fundraising, research, advocacy and policy analysis together throughout her career.

Most recently serving as the Development Coordinator at Capital Roots and the Grants and Program Development Manager at the AI Center of Excellence, Linden is ready to work with the amazing community of advocates, friends, and supporters that make up PTNY. She is excited to push for even greater protections and expansions of New York’s public green spaces, while ensuring accessibility for all New Yorkers.

Linden’s favorite nearby hike is the short trail blocks from her house that connects the Riverside neighborhood to Prospect Park in Troy.Her favorite indoor activity is reading with her cat, Eleanor.
