Which state park is most LOVED?
The people have spoken and based on the amount of volunteers participating in I Love My Park Day, Allegany State Park is the most loved state park, with 321 volunteers pitching in to clean up on Saturday May 4. Jones Beach State Park came in second, with more than 200 volunteers participating
In total 8,000 people turned out to clean up their favorite parks for I Love My Park Day, and they sure made a huge impact and had fun! Projects range from general park cleanup and invasive species removal to beautification efforts such as flower and tree planting, weed removal, reseeding, painting, installation of benches and picnic tables, trail maintenance, and much more. If you weren't able to make it this year, mark your calendar for May 2, 2020 for next year's event.

I Love My Park Day is coordinated at the statewide level by Parks & Trails New York in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. At the park level, Friends groups and park staff oversee cleanup, improvement and beautification projects and work with volunteers.
