New Senate Chairs of Senate, Park and Environment Committees

A long-standing, passionate supporter of parks, Senator Serrano led the fight in 2010 against the closure of New York State Parks and, along with parks advocates, succeeded in keeping State Parks open to the public.

Says Senator Serrano, "Our beloved state park system is the crown jewel of New York, providing countless health, recreational and enrichment opportunities for residents and visitors alike. As an enthusiast of the great outdoors, I look forward to this fantastic opportunity to continue working to preserve and enhance one of our greatest legacies.”

Senator Serrano represents the 29th Senate District, which covers neighborhoods in the South & West Bronx, East Harlem, Upper Yorkville, Roosevelt Island, Central Park and the Upper West Side.

Senator Kaminsky previously served as Ranking Member of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee. A proven environmental champion, he has been at the forefront of initiatives to protect and preserve air, water, soil, and other natural resources on Long Island and across New York State.

A Long Island native, Senator Kaminsky represents NY Senate District 9 on the south shore of Long Island.

We look forward to working with Senators Serrano and Kaminsky on protecting and enhancing our parks, trails and public lands and waterways.
