Summer Solstice Events

It's that time of year again to kick off your shoes and soak up some sunshine! Check out events across New York State to celebrate summer.

1. Summer Solstice Ride at De Veaux Woods State Park

Bring your bike to the Niagara Gorge and ride along the Niagara Scenic Parkway on June 21 from 6:30-8:30 PM! For information and registration call (716) 282-5154.

2. "BYO" Picnic Dinner at Sands Point Preserve

On June 21 from 6:30-8:30 PM, enjoy eating your dinner by sunset, as well as other planned activities such as a guided walk in the woods, family yoga, and watercolor painting. All ages welcome. Admission Members: $10 per car, Non-Members: $20 per car. Pay at the Gatehouse; includes parking.

3. Hike the Upper Great Gorge Route Trail at Niagara Falls State Park

Enjoy the first hike of the summer season on June 23 from 9-11:30 AM. For information and registration call (716) 282-5154.

4. Summer Solstice Party at Gantry Plaza State Park

Celebrate the longest day of the year on Saturday, June 23 from 2-3 PM at Rainbow Park Playground. All ages welcome.

5.Sundial at Thomas Creek Wetland Walk

Take a stroll by the Erie Canalway Trail in Fairport to view this public art project made from old Erie Canal limestone.
