Park Advocacy Day

Join Parks & Trails New York and the Open Space Institute’s Alliance for New York State Parks program in Albany for the 12th Annual Park Advocacy Day and help send a message of support for New York’s state parks and historic sites!

As a park advocate, you’ll join other park supporters from across the state and meet with policymakers to stress the importance of supporting funding for state parks. Voice your support for the $90 million for capital needs at state parks and historic sites, $40 million for improvements to Department of Environmental Conservation managed lands as part of Adventure NY, and continued funding at $300 million for the Environmental Protection Fund, which includes $500,000 for the Park and Trail Partnership Program, a capacity-building grants program for grassroots Friends groups. Your efforts will impact legislators as they make important decisions about parks.

Participating in Park Advocacy Day is meaningful, fun, and easy! Once registered, you’ll be assigned to a team with fellow state parks supporters who, along with an experienced team leader, will join you in meetings with policymakers throughout the day.

We need your help to keep the exciting revitalization of our parks system moving forward.
