A Warm Welcome to Two New Interns

Throughout the year we provide opportunities for students to get a taste of what we do here at Parks & Trails New York. Young professionals in fields related to our work have benefited over the years from experience gained by immersing themselves into our daily affairs. Our internships, including the Arthur V. Savage Internship Program, provide hands-on experiences with advocacy, fundraising, event planning, project management, and more. Join us in welcoming two individuals who have joined our staff for the upcoming months:

Maggie Pugliano joins us as our newest Arthur V. Savage intern. She is currently a student at Siena College pursuing a B.A. in Environmental Studies. After graduation, Maggie plans to continue working in the environmental conservation and advocacy field. At this time, she volunteers at Capital Roots and the Mohawk Humane Society. Maggie enjoys spending time outdoors exploring new hiking trails and camping locations.

Lucy Barrett is currently a high school senior at Bethlehem Central High School. She is interning as part of the rigorous, research-based Lab School program, and to fulfill her passion for environmental conservation. For the past few summers, Lucy has volunteered with the Student Conservation Association, building trails and preserving historic sites. Not one to sit around, Lucy has also helped to create a high school garden, and she gives tours of a local arboretum. In her free time, Lucy can be found reading, hiking in the Adirondacks, and running with her dog. Next year, Lucy plans to continue her education and study urban planning and environmental policy.

PTNY is lucky to have you both!
