Parks & Trails New York is excited to unveil our new website that will serve as the voice of the organization.

Landing upon the main page of www.ptny.org, visitors will immediately notice the striking imagery of the scrolling banners with accompanying taglines. Under the images are various informational areas, including news items, upcoming events, and social media connections.

As visitors delve further into the site using its easily navigable menus, they may notice that a requested page will lead to its sister site, www.CycletheErieCanal.com, simultaneously launched with www.ptny.org. Our intention was to have these two sites work side-by-side and maintain a similar feel. Although it was a challenge conceptually, the finished product demonstrates the significance of the Erie Canal, its history and tourism cachet.

Features distinguishing the new www.ptny.org include:

• A more modern look and feel including the use of more imagery, icons, and interactive elements.
• Better function on mobile devices.
• Improved navigation, better allowing users to know where they are on the site and to jump from page to page.
• A new color scheme that reflects the modification of our branding that included a face lift for the PTNY logo.
