    PTNY's Bicyclists Bring Business Roundtables and Bike-a-Rounds bring participants together in communities along the NYS Canal System to learn more about the cyclists that travel the corridor and how businesses and communities can attract, market to, and profit from cycling tourism..

    George W. Perkins Award Reception

    This year, we are celebrating and honoring AT&T New York, and its President, Marissa Shorenstein, for the company’s commitment to strengthening communities, protecting the environment, and improving lives through its community initiatives. Each year PTNY honors New York’s park and trail leaders with the George W. Perkins Award for Environmental Leadership. The reception is usually held in New York City in the fall.

    Park Advocacy Day

    Parks & Trails New York and our partners annually organize Park Advocacy Day to help send a message of support for New York’s 215 state parks and historic sites. Join with park supporters from throughout the state to meet with policymakers and stress the importance of state parks.

    Trails Advocacy Day

    Join Parks & Trails New York and trail supporters from around the state in Albany to call for funding for the state's multi-use trail network.

    Canal Clean Sweep

    Parks & Trails New York and NYS Canal Corporation host a weekend of volunteer events along the New York State Canal System to prepare it for the summer season. Typically, more than 150 community groups hold over 100 events accross the State, with an estimated 2,000 participants.

    I Love My Park Day

    Parks & Trails New York organizes I Love My Park Day, in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, to celebrate, improve and enhance state parks and historic sites; boost volunteerism; and raise the visibility of the entire state parks system and its needs.
