May 03, 2025
On Saturday, May 3, more than 4,000 volunteers came together across New York State to celebrate and improve our public lands during I Love My Park Day. Thanks to the incredible support from NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and all our volunteers, we held 145 events at parks, historic sites, and other beloved public lands.
Volunteers assisted in preparing New York’s iconic state parks and public lands for the season by cleaning up shorelines, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, removing invasive species and completing site improvement projects. We’re very appreciative of the time, energy, and care you’ve all contributed to making I Love My Park Day such a purposeful day of stewardship

I Love My Park Day and Riverkeeper Sweep Dual Events
This year we participated in a special collaboration with the 14 annual Riverkeeper Sweep!, providing additional access to volunteers registered at Little Stony Point, Norrie Point Environmental Education Center and Piermont Marsh - Tallman Mountain State Park. Volunteers at these three locations were rewarded a free beverage ticket to a participating brewery, bar, coffee shop and restaurant across New York City and the Hudson Valley.
