I Love My Park Day

Record turnout for I Love My Park Day 2022, in rain and shine

On Saturday, May 7, thousands of volunteers across the state rolled up their sleeves to show love to their favorite parks, historic sites, and public lands. Over 5,000 volunteers completed more than 300 clean-up and beautification projects at 170 sites across New York.

Projects included cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trail and wildlife habitat, removing invasive species, and working on various site improvement projects--all which help to prepare our iconic state park system and public lands for the start of the season. Thank you to all volunteers and event hosts who made this year's event memorable and impactful, visitors will benefit from the hard work of volunteers all year!
