Rider Reviews & Trail Travelers
Each year, thousands of riders pedal a portion of the Erie Canalway Trail. Many take a short trek for daily exercise; others plan a vacation, cycling through the canal's small towns, visiting artisan shops, unique restaurants and quaint inns and B&Bs along the way. History buffs retrace America's longest man-made waterway.
Others cycle the entire trail, fulfilling a dream of crossing the great state of New York on two wheels. For many, it is part of a longer journey across the United States. No matter how many miles you travel, there are always new adventures to discover.

Lisa & Jim
This couple from Upstate New York are trekking from End-to-End for the experience, but also to create awareness.
Stefan & Johannes
Came across our first cross-country riders so far this season. Stefan (left) and Johannes are cycling from New York City to San Francisco.
Alex
One of our trail ambassadors met Alex on the trail near Poolsbrook. Seeing the luggage on the back of his bike, he asked if he was going far. "Sort of", Alex said. He was going to a wedding in Albany and would stay with friends for a few days. When asked how he would get back, he said, "Well, after Albany I'm riding to Virginia, then North Carolina. It's a 1,000 miler." So yes, Alex is "going far"!
Rachel and Mike
Drove to Syracuse and had a shuttle operator take them and their bikes to Buffalo. Then they biked back slowly stopping for treats and B&B's along the way (a bakery in Brockport and lunch at Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester).
Ina and Mirko
Ina and Mirko are from Germany. They rode to Portugal then came to NYC and are currently traveling around the world.
