Volunteer on the Annual Bike Tour
Each year, Parks & Trails New York hosts hundreds of riders on an eight-day ride across the Erie Canalway Trail. Volunteers play a critical role in making this event a success. Learn more about the volunteer opportunities on the Annual Bike Tour.
Adopt-a-Trail
Volunteers adopt a section of the trail during the season and agree to provide ongoing maintenance for that section. From removing brush to painting signs, our Adopt-a-Trail program is key to keeping the trail safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Canal Clean Sweep
Spend a weekend spring cleaning, getting the Canal and Canalway Trail ready for visitors at this annual series of events sponsored by the NYS Canal Corporation and Parks & Trails New York.
Trail Ambassadors
Canalway Trail Ambassadors are volunteers who agree to patrol segments of the trail for specified time periods in order to ensure a safe, enjoyable trail experience for all users.
