Little Falls to Albany
The trail between Little Falls and Albany, also know as the Mohawk-Hudson Bikeway, provides a journey through the Mohawk River valley, an area rich with working farms, vast forests, and historic small towns. While the western part of this area is most known for fresh produce and homemade goods from family-run farms as well as an abundance of B&Bs and inns, the Arkell Museum in Canajoharie holds a notable collection of works by American impressionists like Winslow Homer, Mary Cassat, Andrew Wyeth and Georgia O’Keefe. Further along the trail in Schenectady’s Historic Stockade District and around Union College, Victorian area homes and churches line the streets. Continuing east, the trail follows the Mohawk River and it’s wetlands to the Hudson River, where it continues along to New York ‘s Capital, Albany, ending in the city’s popular Corning Riverfront Preserve.
