Message from the Cycle the Erie Canal Organizers
April 1, 2021
Welcome! Thanks for your interest in Cycle the Erie Canal 2021.
We are excited to be offering our traditional eight-day adventure from Buffalo to Albany once again.
With the ongoing Covid19 global pandemic, the safety of our riders, volunteers, staff, vendors, and local community members is at the forefront of our planning.
Our first step has been to limit the size of group to be able to better comply with Covid19 regulations for capacity in dining, in facilities and on the trail. As such, we are limiting the group to 350 participants and volunteers.
Guidelines from NYS state are evolving each week and we will be ready to follow the regulations in place on July 10. We encourage all participants to visit https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory to stay abreast of restrictions that might impact travel plans. We will let you know of any updates or changes.
Covid19 will be affecting many aspects of the ride and we have considered these impacts in the Covid19 policy and mitigation plan. Please read through the policy as it will be guiding rider logistics regarding camping, dining, showering and day-to-day activities.
We are ready to ride and appreciate your patience with the logistical changes that are being implemented.
Get ready for another great adventure, even at six-feet apart,
Al Hastings, April Amodei, and Robin Dropkin
