In 2025, more than 8,000 volunteers joined us for four major volunteer events! Across I Love My Park Day, Canal Clean Sweep, Adirondack & Catskill Park Day, and Wildlife Day, our community of volunteers proved once again that caring for the environment starts right here at home.
These New Yorkers rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their gloves, and headed outdoors to give back to the lands they love. Together, they made a massive impact:
2025 Total
More than 8,000 volunteers donated 24,000+ hours of their time in 2025.
Nearly 90,000 lbs of trash were removed over 320 sites 500+ miles of trail.
Plus 360 gardens created and 1,950 lbs of invasive plants removed.
I Love My Park Day
More than 5,000 volunteers donated 15,369 hours of their time to I Love My Park Day.
More than 40,000 lbs of trash was removed across the state, including 205 miles of trail.

That’s a lot of invasives! Plus 354 gardens created and maintained.
Canal Clean Sweep
More than 2,000 volunteers donated 7,251 hours hours of their time at Canal Clean Sweep.
That’s the equivalent of about 7 adult elephants or a fully loaded school bus!
