Jackie Gonzales (née Mirandola Mullen) joined PTNY as a Program Coordinator in 2015. Previously, Jackie worked as an interpretive park ranger at Cape Cod National Seashore and other National Park Service sites. She also served as PTNY’s first Arthur Savage intern in 2013. Jackie has a Ph.D. in Environmental History from the University at Albany and a B.A. in History and German from the University of Notre Dame. Her doctoral research examined the politics of coastal park creation and land use management in the 1960s. She applies this research to the present at PTNY. A native Atlantan, Jackie somehow still loves snow. She spends her free time canoeing, bicycling, reading books on park benches, and enjoying the natural and cultural wonders of New York’s Capital Region.

Elizabeth Levesque (Liz) is a graduate student in the Masters of Regional Planning program at SUNY Albany, with an environmental concentration. Prior to the MRP program, Liz earned her Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science, and a GIS certificate, also from SUNY Albany. This past summer, Liz worked in Sacramento, California for state level planning and was fortunate to work on several projects, including work on a document which focused on health in planning, a project that allowed for a better understanding and appreciation for active transport, open space equity, and safe trails and streets. In her free time, Liz enjoys planning and attending social and educational events for the MRP graduate organization, traveling, experiencing local food and brews, and exploring new places around the Capital region.
