More Playtime in Parks

Exciting news for park enthusiasts! In late August, NYS committed $2.5 million for improving or building 13 playgrounds across eight state parks. These playgrounds are expected to be ready for use by next year.

The park improvements are part of the Governor’s NY Parks 2020 plan, a multi-year commitment of $900 million in private and public funding for state parks. This plan includes additions or improvements to 100 playgrounds by 2020, consisting of replacing outdated equipment with code-compliant equipment, providing distinct play areas for young and older age groups, and including shade trees, seating, water fountains, and trails and walkway connections.The playground enhancements are a great way to encourage a new generation of New Yorkers to appreciate the great outdoors.
