Cycling the Hudson Valley Bike Tour - July 29-August 3, 2014
Hudson to New York City

Ride through one of America’s most historic river valleys on Cycling the Hudson Valley, a 6-day, 200-mile tour from Hudson to New York City. With a new route for the 10th anniversary, the ride features Kingston’s Stockade District and Historic Huguenot Street in the vibrant village of New Paltz, as well as old favorites the Culinary Institute of America, West Point, and the traffic-free Hudson River Trail in New York City. Optional routes to increase mileage, including a climb up Bear Mountain for spectacular views of the Hudson Highlands.

The Ride
The Cycling the Hudson Valley is designed for fun and relaxation and to acquaint you with the richness of the Hudson Valley. You don't need to be an expert to participate in this tour but you and your bicycle should be in good physical condition. You'll cover 35-45 miles per day. The route includes some hills. The route has been carefully selected for optimal bicycling but, especially as the tour approaches NYC, some busy roads are inevitable. Overnights will be at Hudson, Kingston, Hyde Park, Garrison, and Nyack.

The Hudson Valley
Home to Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, West Point, the spectacular Catskill Mountains, scenic villages, riverfront mansions, and many outstanding parks and trails, the Hudson Valley is rich in history, culture, wineries, gourmet cuisine and scenic bicycling. And through it all runs the mighty Hudson River.

Volunteer - Ride for Free!
Both riders and non-riding participants can volunteer to help out during the ride. Volunteers who commit to the entire tour ride for free and will
even be able to bicycle part of the time. There are many volunteer possibilities available for volunteers including sag and luggage truck drivers, rest stop help, route supervisors, route checking, and more! View Volunteer job descriptions.
