Mohawk Hudson Bike-Hike Trail Clean-up
Event Description: Five Rivers staff and Student Conservation Association environmental educators invite volunteers to help beautify the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail, starting at the Albany Boat Launch at the Corning Preserve in Albany and working northward. Garden gloves are recommended. Trash bags will be provided.

Event Description: Each year, volunteers remove 20 tons of harmful trash and debris for our waterways. This year, the Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPERS will be at 3 sites along the Erie Canal. Each location, Ellicott Creek Park, Canalway Trail, and Amherst Veterans Canal Park, will need about 30 volunteers total to make the best impact on those areas.

Clean Sweep on the Chenango Canal Towpath Trail
Event Description: The Chenango Canal Association (CCA) hosts the 9th annual Canal Clean Sweep on Saturday, April 12th: 10 am - 4 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, April 13th at 10 am. This is a community project to clean up the winter refuse and present a groomed public trail to those who like to walk, watch birds, fish, picnic on the deck or mountain bike. The Clean Water Coalition at Colgate University co-sponsors Clean Sweep by recruiting volunteers from campus to work alongside CCA members and friends from the community. Working in units along the trail, volunteers pick up trash, rake around the entrances and drag downed limbs to the roadside for pickup by the NYS Canal Authority.

Fairport GREENKEEPERS Canal Clean Sweep
Event Description: Rain OR shine, we will meet at Abbott's and then walk out toward the canal and to the left. There is a treed area with 3 picnic tables down past the back side of Basic Bean Coffee and Zen Nail Spa. We will be raking and picking up sticks, trash and debris to make the picnic area look more inviting. Please bring gloves, a sturdy trash bag or two, and a rake if possible. If the weather permits, bring a bagged lunch/snack to enjoy. There are also a couple of places to get a snack right there if you like.

Event Description: Our annual Canal Clean Sweep centers on three areas along Sweeney Street: Mayor's Park, Service Drive Park, & Niagara Street Fishing Dock Park. The City of North Tonawanda & others provide heavy lifting equipment while volunteers use elbow grease and ingenuity to beautify the parks for all to enjoy.

Rome's Great American Cleanup Day

Event Description: Volunteers should meet at the Gazebo on South First Street at Canal St, in Fulton for a Coffee Kickoff at 10 a.m. We will bag litter from Veteran’s Park and other greenspace along South First Street between Lock #3 and the Fulton Public Library, as well as along the Towpath Trail at the river's edge. For safety: children must be supervised by an adult; wear boots or sneakers, and work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Seneca Cayuga Clean Sweep
Event Description: We will be starting at the mouth of the Seneca Cayuga Canal and paddling with the current back to Fuzzy Guppies: Human powered watercrafts (the place for kayaking in the Finger Lakes) on our 5 mile paddle we will be picking up trash in and around the canal (a source of drinking water for over 60,000 people in our county) we will be followed by a barge holding water, and lunch for all of our volunteers.. Village of Clyde Canal Clean Sweep
Event Description: We send one crew west to Lock Berlin, anothe crew to Brown's Crossing, each about two to three miles. They will work toward out canalside park, Lauraville Landing. Our collecting is piled there and will be picked up by the village highway department for disposal. When finished we have a hot dog roast at the park.

Village of Macedon Canal Cleanup Day
Event Description: The Village of Macedon in partnership with the Macedon Village Pride Committee and Project S.H.O.W need volunteers to help clean up Canal Park, Lock 30. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, rakes and weeding tools. Trashbags and water will be provided. Fly kites and make S'mores at the end.
