Fairs and Festivals

The Erie Canalway Trail passes through more than 200 upstate NewYork communities, each with its unique character and history. Festivals are a great way to sample local color. Summer is the height of the festival season, while fall heralds many harvest festivals. The Erie Canal corridor is also home to the NewYork State Fair and many county fairs that celebrate the agricultural heritage and bounty of upstate NewYork.
