2011 George W. Perkins Award Honorees
PTNY honored 23 of New York’s Pioneers of Environmental Law with our George W. Perkins Award at a reception at The University Club in New York City on November 17. The party was a rousing tribute to – and an emotional reunion for – a group of activist/lawyers whose work, in many cases reaching back almost 40 years, helped create the statutes, agencies, and standards that now protect our air, water, public green spaces, and historic sites.
You can find more more photos from our event on Flickr. Read ceremony remarks here.

Honorary Chair and longtime PTNY Board Member Arthur Savage commenced the program by extolling the works of George W. Perkins, our honorees, and others who have fought so hard to create and protect our environment. |

Honoree Nick Robinson congratulated our emcee Bob Kafin (an Honoree and PTNY Board Member) for his inspiring remarks, reminding all of us that it is possible to transform our ideals into reality.
