Dear Friend of Parks & Trails:

The Governor’s proposed budget is out, and it doesn’t look good for New York’s parks and trails.  The Parks Agency’s capital and operating budgets–cut. The Environmental Protection Fund–cut.  Open hours and services at state parks–cutRead more about how the Governor’s proposed budget affects New York’s parks and green spaces.

We need your help to make the most effective fight for New York’s parks & trails. Attend our Parks Advocacy Day on March 3. Send an email or letter to the Governor, your Assemblyperson, and State Senator. And donate now to Parks & Trails New York so we can make sure New Yorkers have safe, attractive, and accessible parks.

Last year 55 million people visited New York’s state parks – from Montauk to Niagara Falls. And this year even more people will be looking for vacations closer to home…for rest, relaxation, and respite.  Help us make the case for New York’s parks and donate now.

In this economic climate it’s going to be a challenge to keep even the reduced level of funding for parks from being cut further. We need your help.

Thank you.  We truly appreciate your support.
